StarSkate

The StarSkate program is for skaters 8 and up looking to build and develop specific figure skating skills!

What is StarSkate?

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skills, free skate, and artistic skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Assessments through a nationally standardized assessment system.

Our Figure Skating program offers a rewarding and comfortable atmosphere for skaters to enjoy the sport recreationally. This program is dedicated to building and improving specific figure skating skills, allowing skaters to advance their technique with/without the pressure of competition.

There are 3 levels: Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors

We put a particular emphasis on:

  • Figure Skating Techniques: Beginning edges, basic spirals, and turning skills.

  • Control & Grace: Developing fluid movement and precision.

  • Jumps & Spins: Learning and refining foundational rotational and aerial elements.

  • Footwork & Balance: Developing intricate steps, edges, and control.

Who’s it for?

Previous figure skating experience is required to enter this level. Skaters typically advance to this program upon completion of our Glider program. Skaters with experience from other clubs are welcome, but must receive approval from our coaching staff; please contact us to discuss the requirements.

Who teaches it?

NCCP-trained professional coaches.
