CanSkate

The CanSkate/Gliders programs are for skaters 3 and up who want to learn to skate!

What is CanSkate?

CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. CanSkate is comprised of a complete series of balance, control and agility skills taught in six stages of learning. Skaters should be able to move around unassisted before moving into CanSkate stages. CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.

Who’s it for?

For beginners ages 3+ as well as for those wishing to improve their basic skills whether their focus be for figure skating, hockey, speed skating or just skating for fun.

What is Gliders?

Our Intro to Figure Skating program is a non-competitive, badge-level program designed to be the next step in a skater's journey. We build on general skating proficiency while introducing basic figure skating techniques. This class provides a strong foundation for skaters wanting to continue with either competitive or non-competitive figure skating paths.

Who’s it for?

This program is open to skaters age 5 and up. Skaters must turn 5 before the program begins. Skaters must have completed Skate Canadas Badges 4-5 or show equivalent proficienticy with coaches invitation.
