Hi, my name is Haley Barber I have been Head coach/ the Director of skating at the Golden Figure Skating Club for 5 years now. I am currently a Provincial-level certified coach. I competed seriously around BC until I was 19 then decided to go the coaching route. I first started coaching at 15 and have never stopped since.
Figure skating has always held a special place in my heart — not just as a sport, but as a lifelong passion. As a coach, I bring that same love and dedication to every session, with the hope of inspiring each skater to find their own joy on the ice. My approach is rooted in compassion and connection. I believe that every child deserves a supportive environment where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged to grow. While figure skating demands discipline and focus, it doesn’t mean it can’t also be fun.
At the same time, I believe in the value of working hard with a purpose. I encourage my skaters to set goals, push their limits, and take pride in the effort they put in — not just the results they achieve.
Whether your skater dreams of competing or simply finds joy in skating , my goal is to help them grow into confident, resilient and hard-working individuals on and off the ice.
